A difficult game on a terrible pitch, and personally if the players hadn't already been in Cumbria on Sat morning then I don't think that the game wouldn't have been played.

Full credit to everyone at Workington for the effort they put in to get the game on because the pitch really did look more like a mud bath, and the conditions were better suited to them.  For a lot of the game we really did seem to get stuck in the mud and what chances we did have we failed to capitalise on, especially the sitter early in the game.

On another day those chances would have gone in and things could have been different, but in the end I would say the home team deserved the 3 points.  Their first goal was a strike of quality which any team would be proud of, and as soon as they got their second we knew it would be difficult to mount a comeback.

The only frustrating thing about the game is that we've played worse football during this season and won, so obviously it just shows the quality of the opposition.

All we can do is put the result behind us, and move onto our next game on Mon night.  From now on points really do matter more than the performance, and now we all need to get behind the team more than ever.

COYG cheers cheers cheers
