May as well start a new thread. Who's going, how many will we take and who do you fancy in round four(......)?

I will certainly be going. As to how many, according to their website the capacity for away fans is about 1,800 so hopefully we will take quite a few.

We shouldn't be thinking about the 4th round yet. But if we do get there then I want Man Utd, that way the TV companies might sit up and notice us for once Razz

Definitely going. Vowed after missing Plymouth due to having an exam the next week, that I wouldn't miss another game like that!

Hopefully we will top four figures in terms of away support, and beat the 898 we had at Plymouth and 915 at Stevenage.

Got my tickets this morning, and unlike some others who where there I had no problems having to wait before buying it.

The delay was caused partly by someone called TCP who was creating chaos whilst buying his tickets, and he actually bought 2 of them.  Question is, who's the lucky person that'll be sitting by him lol!

As this is the 3rd round I think that there's a good chance that we can take over 1,000 supporters with us, but I'm not sure what our actual allocation is.

I see the club have announced the 2,000 tickets have sold out. Whilst this is brilliant for a club of our size I can't help think those in charge have got the ticketing wrong on this.

I am not a ST holder, I attend with a group of others and none of us at the beginning of each season can commit to every home game, however we attend around 2/3 (EDIT: two thirds not two or three) of them and do away games when other commitments allow - needless to say none of us have got tickets for the Wycombe game. However, we will all be there in the home end.

For the club to allow ST holders to buy four tickets and members two I think is ridiculous, these tickets will be distributed amongst 'pals' who go to one or two games a season. A system similar to the below would be much fairer and easy to organise. Simply tell people at the start of each season to keep hold of ticket stubs for home matches and present them when trying to buy tickets for big games.

2 per ST
1 per member
5 home stubs
4 home stubs
3 home stubs

As we find ourselves having more and more success and big games it surprises me that the club don't think to put something like this in place. It would be really interesting to see how many of the 2,000 with tickets have been present on the freezing cold Monday nights over the past few seasons.

Despite sounding bitter and twisted, I'm not (really). I don't blame anyone who has got a ticket through a mate with a ST, we would all do the same. See you all in Wycombe - I'll be the one getting escorted out of their end after Benbow's last minute winner.

Up the Glassboys!

I suppose the obvious reply to your comment and I will say it before someone else does is, if you can't commit to every home game then why not buy a flexi ticket or become a member instead which would give you priority on tickets. Having said that I do think it is a bit unfair that they've sold out before any could go on general sale, and I wonder if Wycombe are used to their away section being sold out?

As to Benbow scoring a last minute winner I would hope that it doesn't take us that long, and that a goal in the final minute would simply be the icing on the cake of a resounding victory.

As Chiltern Railways are putting on a special service To & From Wycombe on the 7th, I have already booked my return ticket. Details about this train can be found on our website.

It may be cheaper travelling on the coach, but there is more leg room on the train and you can move around whilst it is travelling.

I think everyone's been taken by surprise with the numbers this season. Selling out against Northampton was expected but the tickets going so quickly probably wasn't. Equally, you might have thought we'd sell most of the 2,000 for Wycombe but surely nobody counted on them selling as quickly as they did. It's a learning curve for all concerned and I don't think much blame can be attached to anyone - officials or supporters - provided lessons are learned for next time.

All very valid points tbh.

I'm constantly amazed at the random nature of our ticket distribution for the bigger matches.

Each "cup run" season the club misses a massive trick in terms of boosting league gates prior to cup matches.

There have been occasions where we have had two or three league matches at home prior to these big matches and one surefire way of ensuring massive league gates prior to cup matches is to guarantee the attendee of any league match in the lead up to the cup game a ticket by issuing a voucher allowing ONE ticket for the cup tie.

It's not rocket science and it rewards attendance at leave matches.

The bottom line with a scheme like this is that IF you don't sell out using this scheme you put the remaining tickets up for grabs a few days before the FA Cup match.

I just see it as a constant missed opportunity.

Our average league gate is already tremendous for a club at our level but maybe we've missed out on another 1000-2000 attenders of league matches.

Just a thought and hopefully something that will be considered in future.

Sorted our tickets out today, home fans with a booking history only they said, haha! See you all Saturday.

If you're coming to Wycombe this Saturday and are looking for a pub (and some entertainment!) before the game then you’ll be very welcome at The White Horse, the 'away fans' pub. Plenty of lagers at normal pub prices, pool, Sky and BT Sport on TV.  Oh, and ‘exotic dancers’ from 12.30 – (‘usual’ £1 in the pot if you watch) + lap dances. The White Horse is on the main A40 West Wycombe Road going east towards the town centre about a mile from West Wycombe (Leave M40 Jct 5 - satnav postcode HP11 2LR) Some car parking, more nearby. On the route from the railway station to the ground – about 25 minutes from the ground at a brisk walk – or we’ll call you a cab. More details @ babewatchwycombe.com. No admission charge. Sorry, no under 18’s!

Wycombe fan in peace.

I thought you deserved a replay, you matched us all the way and were unlucky to lose. We had an off-day but you were better than a few league sides we've faced this season.

I'm also sorry you didn't get a TV game or the glamorous, money spinning third round tie you were after. I'm under no illusions we probably weren't very high up on your list of teams you wanted to play.

At least you got to celebrate a goal (and what a celebration it was), it's moments like that which is what football is all about.

Shame about the berk with the flare though, hopefully he spends a night in Wycombe nick and you don't get a heavy fine.

What a day to remember ! Wrong result but, as been said on Twitter and particularly by fair-minded WW fans, we can't be any more proud of our team's performance.

Perhaps the quality of the gap between Div 2 and our league isn't as great as we thought but a vastly League experienced ''rotund'' old pro proved to Jack that it is a very fine line between being a hero and villain.

With the pitch being in very good condition, WW surprisingly played very little football, relying on the long ball. We did also but that was meat and drink to their tall goalie. When we did pass the ball, we looked far more dangerous.

But, to play away to a very much in-form Div 2 team and not to come home with the deserved draw speaks volume for the players and Gary's management team.

Apart from that one imbecile, our support was absolutely phenomenal with non-stop singing. It was very sporting of Gary Ainsworth to come and applaud us.

Summarising, today was one of those '' I was there '' moments.

Thank you, Stourbridge Football Club !!!

Jock's little helper

For an long standing Chairboy, yesterday was like a trip back in time, a time when Wycombe would give the big boys from Newport, Bournemouth, Middlesborough, Colchester, York, Bristol Rovers etc a run for their money. Stourbridge were excellent in everything they did and just for the width of the cross bar could have left with so much more – and that crowd behind the goal never stopped singing. Keep backing your club; I’m sure there is much more to come.

This was my first outing since a heart attack a week and a half ago and thankfully, despite the best efforts from Stourbridge to send me back to Harefield hospital, I kept myself reasonably calm until JJ’s pin point cross to the Beast’s head.

All the best to Stourbridge for the rest of the season and the years to come.

Absolutely amazing day, yesterdays game against wycombe has to go down as the best ever even though we didn't win. You really couldn't tell which team was supposed to be the professionals, especially in the 1st half.

The support was absolutely brilliant from nearly everyone, except the idiot with the flare (who I've been informed was actually a Wolves Supporter not a Stour fan!) Just wish I'd known that at the time as I've always wanted an excuse to "slap a dingle" And I cannot see the point of going on the pitch during the game either, as you just get thrown out the ground and miss the rest of the game. Which seems totally pointless to me, and it spoils the day for everyone else. I does not matter how good our performance was on the day, all we will be remembered for is the incident with the flare, especially as it isn't the first time it's happened. If we do get fined I think the person arrested for it should be made to pay it and not the club.

As to the game itself there was absolutely nothing between the 2 teams, and the statistics for the game proved that. The only obvious difference between the teams was the fact that Wycombe have got a "beast" who is good at football and can score goals called Akinfenwa, where as we've got a "beast" who is just scruffy & drunk most of the time.

If only Tom Tonks shot had been an inch lower at 1-1 things could have been very different, but unfortunately the crossbar got in the way.

Time to start concentrating on the league again, and I look forward to seeing all of those 2,199 supporters at the next home game.

COYG cheers

A truly wonderful day, longer standing supporters than I thought beforehand this was bigger than the Welsh Cup final and it was I think. To play on this stage with the other clubs involved in this round was momentous.  Sadly my prediction of we will score but not confident of a result, when collared for a mug shot by the Express and Star (always  try and avoid that but didn't see them coming!) was correct.  The build up in the marquee (which run out of beer I believe at one point!) was unreal, not usually one for alcohol myself but if ever there was an occasion for it this was it! the pork bap was excellent despite the London pricing.

I couldn't ask for anything more from the players, a sensational performance, deserved a replay and could even have nicked it, although Wycombe did waste a couple of chances they should have scored from.  Akinfenwa was as expected a handful, but probably hasn't had many tougher games this season, the one time he peeled off it was a great header (and cross).  Benbow didn't have a sniff it was a tough afternoon against that defence, goalkeeper was excellent as well, Scarr and Duggan always looked the most likely scorers, the former 3 great goals and celebrations in this cup run. I know Barry Fry was watching from the directors box yesterday, and I fear it wasn't Wycombe players he would have been looking at.  It got very tough in the second half after the first goal and did well to hang in there, at 1-1 we looked the most likey to score the winner, Tonks nearly surpassed his Peterborough Sports goal.

I think all the 8 games this season have shown the very best of the FA cup with all sides showing the desire in trying to get through and every match was good, especially today with a (relatively speaking) big boy and minnow going at it at full tilt.  The match video should be sent to Eddie "I love the FA cup" Howe.

The noise was tremendous all afternoon and brought a real lump in the throat and a tear to the eye (partly due to the result but just an emotional day), needless to say when I first came down averaging around 225 on a Saturday and 170 midweek, this seemed a long way off, it was after the Walsall game which I tried (and failed) to glory hunt which first sparked my interest, I could see straight away this was a club worth watching in the league despite "well they won't reach the Fa Cup 1st round again" ..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

It did feel like Hackett was on thin ice two years and I reluctantly thought it may be time for a change, delighted to say I was talking out of my backside, what a job he's done and great to see on the mic yesterday - although I only heard about 3 words he said! It is wise to be careful what you wish for - like the Arsenal fan ringing 5 live at half time last night calling for Wenger to be sacked (they got him back on later after the injury time winner!).

Leaving the worst till last, that muppet with the flare should be banned from all grounds for life, don't know if was the same culprit as previous games? but the stupidity was even more the fact to do it at 0-0 when there was no goalmouth action to distract people and was seen by most who had done it.  Chap next to me thought we may be chucked out of the FA cup even if we won after 3 in 3 matches.

Anyway promotion next target (no pressure Gary!) but before that, see all 2000 of you at Barwell on Tuesday, I don't expect to see many of the players from yesterday, never mind supporters!

A wonderful day out from start to finish.

Great company in the car on the way there, dream journey of 1.5h, easy to park for £5 near the ground. More chatting over a packed lunch in the car then off to the ground, where there was a huge contingent gathered near the marquee. I saw the queue and decided against it, and instead opted to head into the ground early. Plenty of time to find my seat, which afforded a great view of the tidy ground.

All of the stewards and Wycombe fans were superb and really friendly - both on the day and subsequently on Twitter and their forum as well. All have been very complimentary of the club and of the performance on the pitch as well.

To the game then - very funny to see the players get 'done' by Fordy who told them there was to be a minutes silence; I had no idea what they were doing and they somehow managed to glide almost seamlessly into a team huddle after realising he was pulling their leg!

What a superb performance it was. We seemed to switch off only a little bit straight after the break which is when they got the opening goal, but otherwise I thought we created just as much as them throughout. Their goalkeeper made all the difference - 6 foot 8 apparently and won everything at all the set pieces and made a few good saves.

Then the moment I'll never forget, I had only seconds earlier chuntered that nothing had fallen kindly for us in the box all day, and then Scarr battled away and slotted in for a richly deserved equaliser. I was so glad to be stood by the guys I stand with at every home game - I don't think we've ever gone so crazy for a goal!

Unfortunately one good cross saw us fall behind again, that after Tonks had come inches away from putting us ahead!

It wasn't to be, but every one of the players and management team can feel proud of their efforts. They made the club and non-league in general proud.

It's not often Stour are the talk of the office at work, and was nice to be the centre of attention for once - loads of work colleagues and mates have been tracking the run closely and it really seems to have got our name out there.

All but one of our 2,000 fans behaved impeccably on the day - it would be great if even some of them liked what they saw and decide to come along to more home games regularly. Fingers crossed we can push on from here in the league.

Best of luck to Wycombe at Spurs and for the rest of the season - a great club.
