Last night's at times feisty affair saw us achieve a much-needed and deserved win with an under-strength team brought about by injuries and, possibly, resting of key players. Well done to the players brought in - they all acquitted themselves well.
Jack was a tower of strength and is a future captain. Jordan had a promising debut and was unlucky when, out of almost nothing, his swerving shot hit a post in the first half.
For such a youngster, Brandon certainly puts himself about, proving a handful all evening, and fully deserved his goal.
Injuries to Dan and, particularly, Tom look worrying. With all subs used, Tom played a true captain's role by not coming off when he should have done.
Although we started off playing three at the back, Dan never looked entirely comfortable playing on the left-hand side and, perversely, when he came off injured, Lewis's introduction gave the team a better balance.
All-in-all, a satisfactory night's work with all of our players having the huge incentive of the cup replay and Northampton awaiting.
