Oh dear ! Last night was not meant to happen. There we all were, looking forward to a home game at last, with an almost fully-fit squad and against a team that had only collected 1 point from a possible 21 on its travels. Surely the 3 points were ours for the taking ?

But........we were awful, summed up by the calamitous goal ! The early signs were promising but Sutton began to come into the game more, missing one glorious chance. After they'd gone down to 10 men after 5 minutes into the second half, they defended in depth and we had not got the nous to use our numerical advantage, being too one-dimensional with Matt being over-used and Chris being starved.

To me, only Kristian emerged with any credit and it makes me wonder if our strong-in-depth squad on paper is all that strong.

After 1/4 of the season, we have achieved only 50% of points available which, if carried on, will leave us in a mid-table position only at season-end.

No doubt if we beat Nantwich, all focus will be on the lucrative FA Cup but our current disappointing league position and form must not be overlooked.

Not sure why, but we always seem to lose when playing against 10 men. And last nights game proved that fact, which is strange considering our recent good form. We have to start playing as well at home as we do away, otherwise we will start losing supporters.

Last night it looked more like 11 individual players on the pitch instead of a team, and if the players are not playing as a team then it's almost guaranteed that we will lose.

If we play as bad as that on Saturday then we can certainly forget about the FA Cup for this season. I am just glad we are playing Nantwich on Saturday, because if we'd been playing Halesowen in the FA Cup and lost to them we would never of heard the end of it. They would be bragging about beating us and getting to the 1st round proper for decades.
