An excellent and well deserved 2-0 win at home tonight, against a team that constantly made things tough for us. The entire team fought hard all through the game to get the victory, and hopefully we can capitalise on this result during the remainder of the season. Starting at Peterborough on Saturday.

Congratulations to the players and management for tonight's result, and also all of the 600+ supporters that turned out as well.

An entertaining game, particularly the last 20mins, saw us make relatively heavy weather of seeing off a Barwell side that never gave up, even when down to 9 men. Incidentally, the behaviour of their no 6 was deplorable and deserves everything that can be thrown at him.

Our defence looked solid and, if it hadn't been for Chris trying to be clever and stupidly giving away the penalty, a clean sheet looked possible. Last night was the first time I'd seen Lewis and was quite impressed.

With the welcome return of Matt, we look a strong attacking force, although that places more responsibility on our defensive midfield.

Bearing in mind that all teams have dropped points, at this early stage it looks as if the division could be very open this season.

Although it is inevitable that we shan't be able to keep all of our existing squad happy, it should still be strong enough to suggest that this could be a very good season for SFC.
