After we took an early lead, I think the team and supporters were expecting an easy game against a team low in the league but we never really got going until the last 10 minutes or so.

Whether it was a touch of complacency or too many players having an off-night but, for most of the game, Grantham gave as good as what they got. Even after equalising, they were always looking to score.

However, now is not the time to criticise after our team's recent form. Good to see Ben getting more into the game after coming on - we need his ability to do something special.

Although usually being supportive of match officials, I do think that last night's young ref. had a poor game and looked out of his depth. No sour grapes, though !

Agreed on the ref, not good enough for this level of football - utterly shite. We had a point of agreement with their bench that he was consistently shite - so no sour grapes at all, he didn't affect the result, just incompetent throughout and determined to ruin the game.

Sorry guys but I didn't think he was that bad, not the best we have ever had but certainly not the worst.
It wasn't his fault we hit the woodwork & missed a sitter or that their goalie pulled off two or three really top draw reflex saves. We really must start taking more of the chances that we create.
We would be sitting pretty now if Dodd had scored that penalty against Workington and Hawley had buried his big chance on Monday, four points thrown away, six if you count the draw with Rushall, another game that the boys should have wrapped up.
Still early days with this new team and plenty to be confident about, just hope we get revenge against Rushall in the FA Cup !

COYG !
