Today's was a comfortable victory against a Carlton side that offered little threat.

If we'd taken only half of our chances, we would have been out of sight. But, as happens with a side that is playing with confidence, we showed patience and belief that the inevitable goals would come.

With our team now choosing itself, it was yet another good all-round performance, sullied only by the injuries to Leon and Tom - hope they're not too serious.

Well done to Gary for achieving such a turnaround compared with not so long ago - it proves that, if we want to, we never stop learning from our mistakes.

Did more than enough to win against a dogged Carlton, need to be more clinical with the finishing though, if Hawley's chance had gone in early on, it would have been very comfortable I think. As it was we had to wait 66 minutes and the longer it went on the more you thought a smash and grab was on, ironic we scored straight after their only chance of the game, good save from Solly, the striker should have done better really. Great second goal, although the defence thought it was offside - so did I! Lait was outstanding again, a different player from the end of last season.

I felt this was always going to be hard going after the previous 3 Saturdays, but a good job done in the end, shame about the injuries, Pierpoint was struggling as well towards the end. Excellent gate given the opposition and an all pay match, cup fever no doubt!

By all accounts sounds like a very good job well done. Think it's as good a time as ever to just step back and think where we were starting to go down this time last year. When was the last time we had such a settled team? It's very easy for Gary and Fordy etc to come out in the paper and say that they know what was going wrong but to then actually rectify it is another thing completely.

There is plenty of time left this season for it to all fall apart but you don't get the feeling it will, do you? Which just look a completely different beast this year. The Dover and Kiddy results aside the two games that come to mind are the derby nd darlo. In the Derby we were nowhere near our best and they could have knicked it, but they didn't. We did. A sign of all good teams is when you can perform average and get a result. Then at Darlington when we absolutely bossed them-and I mean bossed them.

It's almost as if the mentality of going to Stour and expecting a performance and a win are back. Not arrogance but total total belief in the ability of the team

Hopefully another cup run is on the horizon, there's absolutely no reason why we can't go far in this. COYGB.
