Following on from Saturdays excellent performance this was rather a rather patchy performance against a team who belied their bottom of the table position.
The opening half was an even affair, with neither side having any clear cut opportunities. Ramsbottoms defence looked shakey at times, but they broke at speed with two good wingers and only a poor final ball let them down on a couple of occasions.We had plenty of possession but failed to turn it into goal scoring opportunities.

We started the second half on the front foot and went at them and were rewarded with an early goal from Hawley following a corner. From then on it was all Stourbridge, we created a number of opportunities, their keeper made a couple of excellent save, two, from a Harris thunderbolt and a Richards free kick were top class. We also had a good shout for a penalty when Hawley was fouled. Despite this pressure we failed to get the second goal we all felt we needed and lo and behold a foul on the edge of the area by pierpoint resulted in an equaliser when Solly could only parry the low driven free kick and they equalised from the rebound.

They were now well on top and looking most likely to take all 3 points, but a late substitution (Lait for Canavan) saw Lait work his way into the box and score with a drive into the corner. (I missed the actual goal as I was collecting the motm slips - it was that late , pun intended). We saw out the final couple of minutes with ease to get a deserved, but rather lucky in the end, three points.

Man of the Match voting was as follows;

LOUIS HARRIS 5 votes

Chris Lait 4

Matt Dodd 3

Chris Knight ] 2
Tom Tonks

Karl Hawley } 1
Lewis Solly

PAULINE WILEY won the wine.

Thanks to all who took part.
