According to Gary on the back page of the Stourbridge News we did try and sign him, but he wasn't interested.

Possibly, but from what I've heard he seems to have been set on joining one or two of his old pals (Hood, Daly, Morley) at Leamington. The News mentions he was also on Brackley's radar and their track record would suggest that if £££ was his only motivation then he'd have ended up there, at least ahead of Leamington.
