Frome win 2-0 v Bideford so at least we;ve gained on them.

Poole only drew with 10 man Hungerford on Tuesday night which leaves them 8 points behind us with 6 games in hand,it's effectively 9 points though due to our vastly superior goal difference.

1 1/2 points a game is a tough ask for them to average over those 6 games and i think that if we can beat them at their place then we should have enough to stay ahead of them in the top 5.

St Albans and Bideford cut each other's throat's last night with a 1-1 draw and 3 sendings off so a repeat result on Saturday in the reverse fixture or even better,a Bideford home win would give us a chance of overhauling St Albans.

I gather theres some cost cutting going on at Chesham from what Baz tell's me so maybe they might drop off a bit.

Considering we've hardly got out of second gear so far this season we are still in with a shout.

Makes you think what would have happened if we had played how we can most weeks. I think Poole will drop off. It'll catch up on them, and I doubt Bideford have got the legs to carry on for the whole year.

Good job that the season ends in May then! ;-)

Bideford were unbeaten before we went there in November. Since that game, they've won 5, drawn 6 and lost 7. That's not play-off form. Although they beat us comprehensively at home you have to say our performance handed them the points on a plate. They were organised and capable, but certainly didn't look anyhting spectacular.

I stand to be proved wrong but I think they were over-achieving earlier in the season and will slip away. I think it's down to four from five now for the play-offs - although you can't completely rule out one or two clubs with games in hand such as Corby and Hungerford from "doing a Gosport".

You can make a case for any of the five (Chesham, St Albans, Cambridge, us and Poole) missing out. Poole have a stack of games to play and Cambridge will be in a similar boat (no pun intended) if they get many more postponements. Chesham's form has not been outstanding up until they beat Banbury 8-0 last week. St Albans probably have the best momentum (5 wins and 2 draws from their last 7 games) and I would back them to finish 2nd now. Us... well, we've said pretty much all there is to say about us, haven't we? Consistency, consistency, consistency. Oh, and a defensive midfielder.

An expected win for St Albans v Chippenham on Monday night.

Yes, but only 1-0 and St Albans had another sent off. They'll have suspensions hitting them soon.

Poole v Frome off tonight, so none of the real contenders in action. Poole still have 13 home games to fit in. 23 League matches in total plus they're still in the Dorset Senior Cup.

Cambridge at home to Banbury tomorrow night - that should be a safe home banker. Banbury lost their last midweek away game 8-0 at Chesham.

I was saying to Brockmoor last night that with our vastly superior goal difference we are now in effect 12 points ( 4 clear wins ) ahead of Poole even though they have 7 games in hand.

If they draw the first couple of spare games they will then need to still win 4 of the remaining 5 games in hand to get above us.

An early loss in those 7 games or us winning at their place will see them start to implode i think,i certainly don't see them as a threat.

No wonder they're moving to a new ground.

4-2 to Poole at full time.

We are going to have to beat Cambridge on Saturday,we need to reel them in now and St Albans if at all possible.

If we play as well as we did at Corby both tomorrow night and Saturday, then that might be possible. I just hope we can shake off our recent bad form at home.

Looks like certain predictions about Poole not catching us up may look slightly silly Wink

Not a great night with Poole and Hungerford both winning. Also United got a very respectable result, if you're into that type of thing. Ay?  Rolling Eyes

People from Birmingham down to Newquay and across to Wales will be delighted to see United scrape a draw.

The true Mancunian's will obviously be devasted following City's early exit.

A bad night for Stour,we need a win on Thursday now i feel.

I think we always needed a win on Thursday irrespective of last night's results.

I think we need at least four wins from the last five games if not all five TBH.

As we've got no game tomorrow the question is?

Do you see this break as either:

A) A positive thing as it gives the players a break
or
B) A Negative thing as not having a game could ruin our momentum, just when we've started playing well and winning again.

Of course my answer would be both A & B, but then I never do get it right.  The most obvious answer would be A, simply because it at least allows us to fit the charity match in on Sunday Wink
